Life is energy

In memory of Lily — Whose last breath gave me my first real breath of life

Background

As long as I can remember, my whole life has been a research. Research into the subject of life itself. You see, most people are quick to pick an identity and work towards creating that identity. Or perhaps pick a subject and master it. In hindsight, I took the opposite approach. Perhaps, it’s not even an approach. I just allowed life to happen.

Life has a remarkable way of unfolding itself. Every question that I had, was answered in the most unexpected ways imaginable. I have explored every facet of life without fearing death and without allowing an external force to control me. This principle has allowed me to see everything in life with openness. And, here we are. Life has led to me this moment, where now I am in a position to document my findings.

When I did my master’s of business in Australia (as a travel opportunity not for the certification), I realized the use of a formal education. Most of the concepts that were being taught to me in those classrooms were already lessons I had learnt through my life experiences. They were just being expressed with complex terms. So, it was not enough for me to just understand the concepts, I had to communicate it in the appropriate use of language.

Hence, to express my thoughts, ideas and concepts, I have referenced some academically recognized journals and books. I have carefully chosen my references to have historical empirical research findings included that confirm concepts through new scientific findings.

Context

My biggest realization is that the subject of life cannot be known in its totality. Life is infinite, constantly evolving, and cannot be comprehended by knowledge. Why? Because knowledge is always based on the past. Past can only talk in terms of probabilities of the future but cannot have certainty of the outcome, until the moment has been reached when the present becomes the past, again.

What can be known is the human experience of life. At best, using assumptions and concepts we could suggest that life is a play between;

Energy and Matter

Ying and Yang

Masculine and Feminine

Positive and Negative

But, there is no way that you can go beyond that. The only way to truly experience life is to have the courage to walk the tightrope between the known and the unknown. If you walk with expectations you are living in the past or imagining a future.

Understanding these seemingly complex concepts theoretically might not be a daunting task. In modern educational contexts, these ideas can be grouped into four main subjects:

Philosophy

Psychology,

Cognitive Science, and

Neuroscience.

Sure, you can memorize and regurgitate it. But to truly understand the human experience, you need to have the courage to use your own understanding that is learned through life experiences.

Structure of Content

The language used in my work is to present human experience as an interplay between experience and memory. It encompasses three main components that are in work simultaneously and in conjunction with each other:

Experience or inexperience to form memories.

Persona as an identity construct with a collection of specific memories stitched together as a personal story.

Intention as the motivation to seek desires and goals.

This understanding is best achieved through observation of our direct experience rather than theoretical knowledge.

My motivation to write about this here is to stay true to my intention of not profiting from this knowledge, but having it published on an open platform.
